Exhibit Hall OpenGrand Ballroom Salons 3-6 Tuesday 1:00 pm- 7:00 pm Managing Content Integrity with MXFOliver Morgan (Metaglue Corporation, USA) As the use of MXF becomes widespread in television production, file-based processing systems enable complete automation of production editing and packaging. It is now possible for new program versions to be created by producers based solely upon stored metadata, and for the programming to be assembled and delivered to the consumer without manual operations and without human supervision or quality assurance (QA). This new capability enables content owners to deliver more content using finite resources; however, it creates a need to increase the efficiency of QA staff: more content requires more or better QA, or the result will be more defects. This paper describes a method of carrying content integrity metadata within MXF files, using existing published SMPTE standards. The content integrity metadata enables automated verification of programming at each step of the production chain.
